I’ve been wanting to make this post for awhile now…I’ve finally gotten around to browsing and editing all the pictures from our hospital stay and I am so excited to share them all! Callie came into this world at 3:36 AM on March 30th, 2015. I had a very fast natural labor and she rocked it! It was so fast the doctor on call didn’t even make it in…it was pretty chaotic but an amazing experience! When we got to the hospital, the nurse said I hadn’t progressed at all. A couple hours later, same thing. I felt so dumb..here I was third kid and coming into the hospital with a false alarm! But I just knew this labor would go fast like Lucy’s, too! So she told us to go walk around L&D for 30 minutes…I started feeling more pain halfway through our walk. So, I decided I didn’t really want to walk anymore because it hurt (ha!) and came back….the nurse hadn’t come to check on me and I was starting to hurt way worse with each contraction. I paged her and she came and checked me and Josh said her eyes got HUGE! She said, “Honey, you’re gonna have a baby in the next hour!” and I was like, “Well, I guess no meds again, huh?” So they carted me off to a room, finally, and got an IV in, each contraction getting WAY way worse, she came in and told me not to push, flipped out and buzzed the other nurses after my water broke (or exploded, really…hahaha) and yelled “I NEED EVERYONE IN HERE NOW!” and three contractions later Callie arrived! She ran around and basically caught her…it was so fast no one really knew that we didn’t know what she was! I had to look down to see what she was! It was so weird! But seeing that we had another girl and finally meeting her was the best feeling, ever! I felt like, “Okay, life is great…our family is complete.” and just instantly fell in love with her! I had dreaded labor with her after two not so wonderful and painful experiences, and of course she comes in and makes me feel so happy with how things went! The moment I saw her I felt an overwhelming feeling of content. Carmen got to spend the whole day with us and bond with Callie, and Lucy came for a couple of hours in the early afternoon. She was so nervous about it, I think! It was adorable though. We both snapped lots of pictures in the hospital and so I’m sharing all my favorites (I’m way oversharing, but she’s mine, and I just can’t help it!) and hope you all enjoy our little story.
