I just have to say how excited I am about these photos! Kristen found out she was having to be induced a week ago and said it would make her feel better being induced if she had photos documenting the whole thing. Of course I said YES! Birth photos are amazing. We had been texting all morning as she was induced starting early in the morning…well, she told me she was 4cm, so I figured I had a little bit of time. 30 minutes later she messaged me and said “I’d head over. Fast progress. 6-7.” SO I FREAKED OUT, jumped in the car and (safely) drove as quickly as possible to the hospital. I basically frantically ran through the hospital and of course got lost. I told her I was there and she said “I’m pushing” so I start asking random people how to get to labor and delivery, that I was supposed to take pictures and the mom was pushing. I was RUNNING. I’m sure people thought I was insane. OH WELL. So I get there, and really didn’t have much time to get settled or take many before shots. I got a few, though! They called the doctor about 10 minutes after I got there, and within 30 minutes of me arriving, Sam had arrived!! Let me tell you how absolutely perfect he is! He is PERFECT. I am so happy for Kristen and Taylor. They are meant to be parents. Taylor was so sweet to him and I’m pretty sure Sam already loves him because he stopped crying every time Taylor talked to him. Kristen did amazing! I’ve been a mom for 6 years (and I’ve been waiting about that long for Kristen to join the club) and being able to see one of my closest friends become a mom AND photograph it was an awesome experience. Now I can’t wait to see him again next week for newborn photos!!
