Judah was the absolute sweetest babe! I never saw his eyes the entire time we shot – he made my job so super easy and love how these photos turned out. He is gorgeous too, isn’t he?! Lane Weichman Newborn Photography Birmingham, AL www.laneweichmanphotography.com
Naturally, the first thing I thought about when I woke up the morning of December 8th and saw that there was gorgeous fluffy snow on the ground is GORGEOUS SNOWY PICTURES!! My girls were pretty excited about taking pictures..so yay! I tried while it was snowing pretty hard with Lucy and lasted about 1 minute. She decided as we walked out to grab a handful of snow and by the time we got to our little spot her hand was frozen….whoops! So I literally shot about 10 shots and a few of them worked! Once the snow settled down later in the day (after playing in the snow and coming back inside for hot cocoa) I thought….this probably won’t work, but let me try to take a picture of the girls together. I layered them all up in multiple layers and we walked to the back yard. They loved it!! Yay! Even our little Lola enjoyed the snow! Here’s my absolute favorite pictures!! I’ve been photographing this family since Samuel was a newborn – and he’s always just the happiest little guy! His 18 month mini session turned into a full family session and thank goodness it did. This has to be one of my favorite family sessions – everything was just perfect. The lighting, gorgeous warm sunset….the location, an awesome farm with plenty of gorgeous horses on top of the mountain in Springville, and of course this amazing family. I’m so happy everything came together and we got some really great memories captured!!
At some point in my liberal arts college career, I fell in love with Frida Kahlo. Her story is so fascinating, her self portraits are intriguing and beautiful. A couple years ago, we went to a Frida/Diego art exhibit in Atlanta – where I bought myself a silly t shirt and a poster which will one day hang in my office – that is, when I have an actual office and not the corner of the girl’s playroom. π I just HAD to buy this little shirt for Callie and have been holding on to it for at least 6 months for the perfect outfit to photograph it with. It’s been worn probably 20 times, and now, even has little food stains at the neck of the shirt. So I just got these Freshly Picked moccasins in the mail today, and knew they’d work perfectly with this little outfit – and because I’m a lover/supporter of all small business mamas like myself – Her denim pants are Ella B Denim, headband is ThanBirds and her little toddler purse is iBetterAccessorize. Callie isn’t quite 2 yet, but she’s super active (as most almost two year olds are!) and what better way to capture this time than a little lifestyle session with her. She’s our last baby so I soak up all these sweet little milestones with her. Her little pigtail buns, her chubby fingers, her joy of collecting and throwing rocks, those little chubby legs, and the way she skips around on her tip toes from time to time (and …
There’s nothing as sweet as a bright sunny spring day, a baby girl in floral, super sweet and adorable parents and little baby kisses! I got all of the above during this mini session! We went to a gorgeous location with wildflowers and a perfect sunset. Some sessions you just fall in love with, and this was one of them. They won a contest I did awhile back, and Carmen (my oldest daughter) got to pick the winner, and she picked this sweet family! We had to push it back a few times and I sure am glad we waited, because this weather was just gorgeous. I had the pleasure of getting to photograph Knox last week and just finished up his photos – I’ve known his mom for a long time and meeting this little squish was such a joy! I didn’t want to return him! π It doesn’t help any that he was an absolute dream baby and posed beautifully, AND he has adorable little rolls and chubby arms and legs! Here’s a few of my favorite photos of him. -Lane –Β Newborn Photographer Springville AL – laneweichmanphotography.com
Beckee is one of my cloesest friends – she’s one of those friends that you just know God put in your life for a reason! She keeps me sane most days, keeps me laughing hysterically (anyone that knows Beckee probably agrees with this) and I know anytime I need anything prayed for, I can come to her and ask and she’ll do it! So basically, I adore this girl, and of course, her family. Her oldest daughter is a couple months older than Lucy, my middle, and Caroline just turned 1. I just can’t believe how fast the last year has gone! I’m sharing a few more than I usually do, but I just had to. Check out some favorites of mine: -Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com family photographer birmingham, al
Fiona’s grandma is a wonderful client of mine and needed some newborn pictures of her newest grandbaby, Fiona! She is one of the most gorgeous newborns I’ve ever seen..and did NOT want me touching her..sweet baby just wanted to sleep! π But I just really adore these photos. She’s just so beautiful! I had to share some favorites! Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com Birmingham AL newborn photographer
Holden was such a doll! I really enjoyed photographing him and getting to met his family! I even got a couple of shots of his GORGEOUS sister! She has the most beautiful eyes and I just had to get some! I got way more photos than usual and his session, even with family shots, went by so quickly! Here are a few of my favs…it was very hard to decide! π Lane Weichmanwww.laneweichmanphotography.com Photographer Springville AL
As expecting parents, we have so many ideas in our heads about what parenting is going to be like. I would say 100% of all parents realize that these ideas are not accurate AT ALL once we actually become parents. With my oldest, I told myself she would only eat homemade organic baby food…she hated it! π I told myself that my middle daughter would be a great sleeper – after her 4m sleep regression, she didn’t sleep through the night until she was 18 months. With my third, I thought I had it all figured out, she is now on a daily dose on antibiotics to prevent recurring bladder infections and has been to children’s hospital more times than I’ve been before as 7 years as a parent! I say all of this to say – after photographing more than 50 newborns, I still get ideas in my head…and when a parent tells me they really want a specific shot, I work really hard to get that shot…however, ultimately, the one in control is the baby! Jackson’s mom had two shots that she really wanted. I tried the first one 3 or 4 times, and it wasn’t happening, and the second one we spent probably 30 minutes working on it, and it didn’t happen either. Most photographers I know are extremely OCD and are perfectionists! I am one of them. I beat myself up over photography more than I do than anything else! It took me the rest of the day to recover from …
I have known Breanne for such a long time, and she came to me months ago and wanted to book a session..I was so excited! Her daughter is absolutely adorable and I knew her newest would be, too! Of course, he’s absolutely precious and did so great for pictures! I just love the warm tones that she chose for their photos, and the colors, and his adorable little mohawk, of course! It’s always so hard to choose just a few to share so I may sometimes share more…and today I did! Here are just a few highlights from Corbin’s newborn session Lane Weichman www.laneweichmanphotography.com Newborn photography birmingham al
Harper’s mom booked with me super early and we have been looking forward to her session for awhile now! She came a little bit early but was a trooper and hardly spent any time in the NICU, and is gaining weight like a champ! She is probably one of the tiniest newborns I’ve photographed, and I told Lauren, her mom, she may not sleep that great because of her size, but she surprised me, and slept THE WHOLE TIME! It was really hard to pick just a few favorites – I know I say that a lot, but I really feel close to my clients and love being able to select photos and hand touch each and every one to present them to their parents. That being said, here are a few: Lane Birmingham AL newborn photographer www.laneweichmanphotography.com
Finn’s mom came to me with a pretty neat idea in mind…she wanted a very simple set up for his cake smash with just one big balloon. I LOVED the idea and we went with it! I’m so happy with how these turned out! It was so much fun, and they have these neat timeless pictures to have forever! Here are a few of my favorites:
Oh my goodness…Kinley is just the smiliest happiest baby! She was SO easy to photograph! She was interested in everything and gave me the biggest smiles! Her parents are super sweet and I was so glad to be able to squeeze them in and photograph her! I LOVE the gorgeous light from her family photos…such a pretty sunset! I can’t wait to see her again for her 1 year photos in January!
I photographed Copper when he was a newborn! His mamma actually won my giveaway for a newborn session. He was a challenge for sure, but somehow we managed to get some great pics! Then, we got some fall family photos with he was 4 months old…and then they came back when he turned a year! They were super easy going when I was having one of those days (for those of you with three kids..you know, one of THOSE days!) and we got an adorable cake smash, then we did a family shoot, with a couple add-ons too! I just love these photos. The colors they picked, the location, it all turned out great! They were troopers! It was SO hot, too! It was hard to pick just a few favorites to share, but here they are!
Ashley inquired months before her due date, and I was so excited at the idea of photographing her identical twin boys! They were both born at 5 lbs at 35 weeks! Since Jeremy and Ashley are my neighbors (we didn’t find this out until later…haha!) we decided to break the shoot into two sessions. I did a few bean bag and prop shots the first day, when they were two weeks old, then a few days later, with an assistant (thank you Lindsey Walker!) we did the more complicated poses. They did SO great and were so much fun to photograph. They were by far the most grunty and noisy babies I’ve had…umm it was so cute! I’m sure it may not be super cute at 4AM but it was adorable to me! π Here are some highlights from our session…enjoy these!
Kennedy was such a great baby and wonderful poser! I got way more photos than her family probably knows what to do with! π I absolutely love the color scheme of her session, it’s so girly and pretty! She’s just too too cute! Here are a few of my favs:
Harper is SO super cute!! She is the smiliest baby, ever! She made her session super easy and her big brother Noah is precious, too! He totally loves her, can’t you tell? Can’t wait to see her again, hopefully, for her 1 year photos! Springville AL baby photography www.laneweichmanphotography.com
I got to photograph Henry when his mom was still pregnant, his birth, newborn photos, 4 month photos and now 8 month photos and we’re already looking forward to his 1 year session! He is SO super precious and his sweet parents are fabulous! His session is one of those I look forward to for months before it happens. I’m already planning ideas in my head for his cake smash and the theme that his mom picked out. We decided to go to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for his photos, and I am SO glad we did! For whatever reason, it was completely dead and hardly anyone was there! We had the whole place to ourselves, it seemed! He wasn’t very fond of the grass but once we put him on a pathway (almost scaring his mom to death!) he did great! We made sure Dad was super close by in case he fell, which he didn’t! Here are a few favorites from his session, wish I could share them all! Birmingham AL baby photography Lane Weichman Photography www.laneweichmanphotography.com
I last saw Luke 6 months ago during Thanksgiving/Christmas time and he has grown SO much!! I loved seeing him again and absolutely love babies in overalls (it is one of my favorite things, EVER!) He was very shy and not fond of me or my camera at the beginning, so we let mom take a few photos with him too and I guess once he saw that Mom was doing it, too, we got some smiles..yay! A few highlights below: -Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com Birmingham AL baby photography
I had a great time photographing Corinn! She was an absolute doll and super smiley the whole time! I don’t think I’ve ever done a 1 year old session with a cake smash so quickly, she was just so great! I love her color scheme for the photos and her cute faces just make it even more precious! -Lanewww.laneweichmanphotography.com Springville AL cake smash photographer
Luke did not like me very much…but that’s okay!! We managed to get just enough cute smiles out of him! π His family was so sweet and so much fun to work with! I love easygoing fun clients…they make my job even more fun! Here are some highlights from his session: Birmingham AL baby photographer Lane Weichman Photography www.laneweichmanphotography.com

I just realized I am A MONTH behind on blog posts! I really wanted to share Brett’s session because he is absolutely adorable and I loved his session! He was great at the beginning but ended up getting pretty gassy, so the last half of his session took awhile. I always say that I can deal with any kind of baby except a gassy baby! π Anyways, here are a few of my favorite of his photos: springville al newborn photography -Lane Weichman www.laneweichmanphotography.com
I haven’t done a Fresh 48 session in a long time (with the exception of Callie’s) and I forgot how much I LOVE them! There’s nothing like a FRESH one day old baby…they still have wrinkly toes, fresh skin, that teeny tiny new newborn look, and the natural light from the hospital is just awesome. I’ve been looking forward to this session for sure. I did Elizabeth’s maternity pictures and I’m doing Brett’s newborn photos this weekend, too…I’m sure he’s already changed so much already! π I think everyone who can should book a Fresh 48 session! π Here are a few (okay, maybe a few more than a few….couldn’t help it) of my favorite photos from his session. Enjoy! – Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com Fresh 48 photography Birmingham AL
Gunnar was born the same day as my Callie! He was born 5 weeks early, so we just did his newborn photos. It’s the first time I’ve photographed a preemie, and I must admit, he did pretty great! He was absolutely adorable and so are his parents! They were so patient during his whole session and we even got a pic of our birthday buddies together at the end of the session! He’s doing the “Grow with me” baby plan, so you’ll be seeing more of his adorable face in the next year. I just have to share a few photos from his session -Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com Birmingham AL newborn photographer
Addison was an absolute dream baby!! She was like putty in my hands, let me pose her in all my favorite poses. She may have put up a little fight at first but was out after a bit and was great. Here are a few of my favorites: -Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com Springville Al newborn photographer
I photographed Will a year ago for his newborn session. He has grown so so much in the last year! I can’t believe how fast it has gone…I’m sure his mom feels the same way, too! We had so much fun during his session then his cake smash…oh my goodness, he was SO SO cute and loved the cake! I had a great time. π Enjoy the pics! -Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com Springville, AL baby photography
I photographed Skylar as a newborn last year, and I got to see her again for her 1st birthday photos….I can’t believe how much she’s grown! I love watching my newborn clients grow..so much fun! Here are a few of my favorite photos from her session…let me tell you, this girl can run FAST! π -Lane Springville AL baby photographer www.laneweichmanphotography.com
I have spent so much time and invested so much love into these photos. Shooting, editing, and sharing these photos has been such a joy for me! I couldn’t have imagined how much I would LOVE taking my own newborn’s photos. SO amazing! Each pose I put her in I took my time and care to perfect her little fingers and toes, place her face just how I wanted it…then maybe stopped and starred a little bit, too, because I adore her little face so much! I wanted to continue on and take more but I just had to make myself stop, because it’s already been so hard to pick which photos I wanted to have printed. I am sharing my favorites that I’ve edited so far! <3 This sweet baby, enjoy these photos! -Lane www.laneweichmanphotography.com Birmingham AL newborn photographer
